YORN Colryorn EPISÓDIO VII 30” – 3D Animated Tv Spot

In this new episode from the Corlyorn family Tito the younger brother is hanging in a giant hook inside the Corlyorn’s secret warehouse. While he’s dragged from the hook he’s presenting all the company’s promotions and finishes with some jokes on how long he will need to be up there!

Everything was made in less than 2 weeks. We wished we had more time as stuff would be much better!

Technical Details:
I made the hook rig which just by pulling the root of the chain will automatically move everything else and apply all sort of physics to the animation such as weight tension swinging animation all fully controllable. This allow the animator to concentrate on the character animation only.
I also made a simpler system for the shirt braces to automatically make the ”hanging swing” again with adjustable tension and controls.

Apart from that we had to figure out how to have literally hundreds of thousand boxes so i managed to create an instance system for duplicating some generic boxes and randomize each one and be light at render time. The box walls closer to the camera were modeled and posed by hand.

Finally i also did some shading all lighting rendering and final compositing/post production.

CorlYorn Episode VI – At the beach!

My task in this spot as well as in the other Corlyorn spots was to ”merge” everything the other artist made and basically make it work all together doing 3d Lighting Shading Rendering and Compositing.

I was also responsible for the environment (beach and tent) modeling shading and animation.

Update #1 – Website Looping animation

This piece is the final composition of all the elements that are present in the Yorn official website. Each character performs his/her movement based on mouse action.

Mundo Compal – Pomar Compal

Compal is one of the most known juice producers from Portugal. This time and for a very large promotional campaign along with the PomarCompal website this 3D animated tv spot was made.

The basic idea is that one can win several trips to those four destinations USA; Costa Rica; Kenya; India and Thailand by collecting the promo codes in the bottles.

My role on this spot was vast from the visual design modeling shading animation lighting rendering and final compositing.

CorlYorn Episode V

The CorlYorns are back! After deciding to take some winter vacations in the snow in their cozy “chalet” Vito and Tito had the unfortunate idea of making a culinary show in order to transmit a coded message for all the mobile network users. Disguised in culinary vocabulary… If only they knew how to cook. The consequences are disastrous!

I was responsible for the Initial Visual development Set modeling & shading; Particle Fx for all small effects such as flour and hot chocolate pouring as well all lighting rendering and compositing.

Yorn “The CorlYorns”

Introducing the CorlYorns: a fully 3d animated ”mafia family” style characters. Main concept was to achieve a look between video games (GTA Mafia references) and a more realistic and polished look. The whole project was made for a 40’ tv spot hi-res prints as well as web interface.

My part was all Lighting and Rendering, as well as some specific shading; compositing, hi-res rendering, Vfx (smoke, water fx) and last but not least physics simulations.

Update #2– Meet the Corlyorn Family

Here are the poster renders i did for hi-res prints. I’ve included some of the fine details in each character. Great modeling and texturing from José Alves da Silva (aka Zeoyn). I then made lighting, some shading, rendering and photo retouching to add lots of details and subtleties in the final pieces.

TAP Airlines – Fly Higher TV Ad

This is an older project while i worked at Ingreme. The only part involving CGI is the ending, with the flying plane.
The plane is all 3D. I’ve modeled, textured, camera matched and rendered it. And with a bit of post-production it came out pretty well.

Persil Powerpearls TV Advertising

This is an older project while i worked at Ingreme. It’s a tv ad for Henkel’s Persil Powerpearls, depicting an astronaut that cant keep his clothes clean when drinking some juice.. ”Houston, we have a problem…” he says. But not to worry, as the detergent is already in the spaceship, ready to save him…

Several shots and objects are CGI:
Spaceship – modeled and textured entirely;
Objects floating – Pda’s, etc are all 3d
Liquids – Made with particleFlow in 3dsmax and rendered with volumetric liquid materials;
Product box – Modeling, texturing and animation
Demo sequence – i’ve created the fibers, fur, dirt exploding, materials, light and rendering
