Another panorama taken in the same place as many in this photoblog – Santa Cruz. This one was very hard to do, because of the hard changes in exposure, so trying to maintain a balance between dark and bright areas was critical. Hopefully i will have a better camera in time, with higher specifications to allow me to produce better shots.

Santa Cruz Tip

I’ve climbed to the very tip of the rocks in Santa Cruz beach so i could take a 360º horizontal panorama. I love the colors in this one, the lighting is great, and i just did a simple contrast correction in post, and there you have it.

Santa Cruz Beach

Again, Santa Cruz beach at its best. We can see a vast view in this panorama, from Santa Cruz village itself in the right, the big rock, and all the way to the fishing spot at the rocks in the right. People have built some stairs and railways in the rock formations, and when the tide is up, you cant come down to the sand. I’ve taken multiple shots with my camera in a tripod stand, then merged all photos with Autodesk Stitcher and some fine tuning and color correcting in Photoshop.

ther Panorama from Santa Cruz beach, this time at dusk. Lighting in this place is often rather nice, with this kind of contrasty skies. The sea winds blows the clouds into land in the sunset, and its easy to get great looking skies. Some seagulls fly in the rocks in the left, and that’s a warning for bad weather aproaching…

Santa Cruz Mirante Restaurant

I’ve taken this panorama of the restaurant in Santa Cruz beach. The straight architectural lines merge perfectly in the natural environment, and shooting in B&W helped to define a better contrast between forms.

I can’t say if the food is good or not, not even a cup of coffee i took…but i’m pretty sure that if you look for a nice fresh fish, this will probably be a good place to eat.

Água das Pedras 2009 Online Calendar

Rage at the cliffs

One weekend, we went on a family walk to ”Praia da Ursa” (Bear’s beach), near Sintra. It’s tough to go there, as its a huge descent till the beach, and sometimes when the tide is up you can’t even get there, cause there’s no sand… but the main issue is getting back, and climb all the way up again…ufff it’s so tiring.. Anyway, this was the perfect spot to test some of my camera’s shutter speed as well as my abilities, so the wave’s crashing into the rocks suited the job perfectly. This was my favorite shot of the lot.
